CARING FOR YOUR BLAZERS
While the majority of our products (over 90%) can be safely machine-washed, some of our blazers (such as the Emily blazer and Sienna blazer) are an exception due to their fusing and tailored construction. For other blazers not mentioned here, please check their Fabric & Care info on their product pages for how to care for them, as we do have machine-washable blazer options available seasonally.
Our Emily and Sienna blazers are made with our signature buttery soft eco-fabric and feature fusing at the front and on the lapels to create a structured and tailored look. Due to this construction, our blazers be dry-cleaned only. This ensures that the shape and structure of the blazer are preserved.
Be sure to request that your dry cleaner use a DRY dry cleaning method and low heat, as a wet dry cleaning method (ironically) also exists, but it will ruin your blazer.
Spot Cleaning
While dry cleaning is the recommended method for overall care, you can spot clean the blazer in non-fused areas, such as the underarm area and back (other than the lapel), to help maintain its freshness and reduce the frequency of dry cleaning.
Removing Wrinkles
To remove wrinkles from one of our dry-clean-only blazers, you can use an iron on low:
1. Use a pressing cloth between the iron and your blazer.
2. Set your iron to low and dry.
3. Use a "press and lift" method, positioning the iron straight down on the blazer, hold for 5 seconds, and lift straight up. No need to press too hard, light pressure is best! Avoid sliding the iron back and forth, as this can stretch the fabric and cause the interfacing to move.
4. Start with the pockets, then move to the sleeves, back panels, and finally the front panels. Don't press to hard on the lapel, as this could create defined folds instead of its natural roll. Lightly press its edges, instead.
5. Let your blazer cool completely on a hanger before wearing or moving it, since hot fabric can easily re-wrinkle.
6. Rock your blazer!
Important Tips
If wet methods are used on our dry-clean-only blazers, they will be ruined. Here is a quick vid on the importance of using proper dry cleaning methods of our dry-clean-only blazers:
Damaged Blazers
If your blazer seems to be damaged, bubbling or otherwise, please reach out to us to see if we can provide further details on if it can be reversed. Unfortunately, sometimes they can be beyond saving if the damage is too far gone, and this is determined case-by-case.
It's easier then you think...
The one golden rule: be gentle and take care! Your blazers can last a lifetime when dry-cleaned and gently ironed on low when needed.
